The MKIII

This is really an unbelievable board! My quest to ride the twin keel fishes to higher levels of performance, especially in more serious waves and yet still keep it a fun board for tiny powerless waves, has been the driving force behind this years improvements to the design. The speed, power and glide of this board is truly a beautiful thing to experience. The MKII was already a finely tuned performance machine capable of riding waves from 1 - 8ft but the MKIII is leaps and bounds above it. It's taken more than a year of trying out various combinations or rocker, concaves and planshapes to get the MKII to where I believed it could go and finally earn it's next generation MKIII tag.   I know that most of my customers who got themselves a MKII enjoyed them so much that they stopped riding their other boards. I think that when they grab a MKIII they'll probably throw their other boards away....

NOW AVAILABLE AS A QUAD!

The MKIII Quad

The MKIII Quad is the same shape as the MKIII twin but with 4 fins instead of 2. The quads feel a little different than the twins, offering a little more hold and control particularly through tighter turns. They still glide much faster and freer than a thruster but not quite as much as a twin keel set up.

Features

  • Improved the entry rocker…..so that you can push them harder, especially in critical situations
  • A deeper concave out the tail…for better control at high speeds and in critical turns
  • Increased fin toe in…..to produce all round better handling and control and a more stable response
  • Low rail for control and holding power through critical turns
  • Twin long base keel fins or removable Futures quad fins

Dimensions

  • Length – ride them anywhere from your own body height to 4” longer
  • Width – generally around 20 ¼” but available from 19 ¾ - 20 ½”

Customer Feedback

“I have been riding the MKII for the past few weeks now and it goes fantastically!!  I am amazed by its speed and how it makes sections I have usually had to push other boards really hard to get around. My friends can’t believe I purchased a twin and it is all the talk. My fears of it being uncontrollably loose are long forgotten. It holds lines, has great speed that it maintains through turns.

It took me a long time to make the decision for this board. All I can say is that both times I have purchased one of your boards I have been super impressed. My surfing is definitely on the improve with new interest. Not sure how to explain them both but them seem to ‘stick’ and handle every move I try. I can’t wait to get this in to larger winter swells. I know it will work on long fast waves like nothing else has for me.” Cheers Dan, Jan 2007

“…thanks for the board you made me… a 6-2 MKII fish … I really, really  like the board. I love the speed  I can generate on it. it so easy and reliable to ride that I find myself riding it pretty much all the time with my shorties sitting in the rack all neglected …thanks for a top board, the glass job is spot on too, as after 4-5 months of pretty solid use it still looks like new.”
Justin April 2007

“Had 3 surfs yesterday which I haven't done for some time, feeling happy & sore today. As I said on the phone the board is amazing! The speed it generates and the high line it can hold when racing point waves really surprised me. I think the board will actually go better in 4-5ft waves than in small junky waves. It’s definitely not a grovel board & the wood fins are just plain cool...”  Chad March 2007
