"Guys, I picked up the board this arvo, and I have a problem. I'm sitting on the floor with a block of tropical wax in my hand and thinking, "I can't do this." In 47 years of surfing, I have never seen a board this beautiful or held one that felt so right. Waxing it seems a desecration: it should be on display. But it's so clearly designed for a purpose, that keeping it out of the water would be like mounting a dolphin on the wall. I'm going to do the right thing and wax it, and on Saturday morning I'm taking it up to the Mentawais. Thank you both for what you have done and please keep making boards like this as long as you are able.
